Return to the moon

Back in Prudhoe Bay after over a month off. When I left, it was snow covered and not much above zero. Now most of the snow is gone, and geese are already here. The ocean is still ice bound, but lots of puddles on the ice and mushy.

Sunlight for most of the day now. Temperature in the 30’s and 40’s and dry air as usual. We’re starting a full 8 days earlier than we did last year for our summer boating season here. We put the boats in the water July 4 last year, so we’ll have to see if meltoff and global warming move the date up even earlier this year.
